Stonington Firehouse
Located in Stonington, CT

General Contractor: M.A. New England, LLC

Stonington, CT is a waterfront community and an old fishing town. This fire station was designed by a local architect and inspired by the shape of a whale. The tower to the left is the tail with the large body to the right of the picture. Inherent to a whale's shape, the "body" of the building has no right angles in its foundation footprint. This translated to every truss on the body of the project being a different shape and NOT square to the façade of the building.
